A Massachusetts state court jury found R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company liable in a wrongful death case, awarding $200 million in damages. The verdict included $25 million for medical expenses and pain and suffering, $5 million for each of the deceased’s five children, and $150 million in punitive damages.
